Practice Real-World Skills in Your Management Studies Courses
Throughout your curriculum, your instructors will assign hands-on coursework that may help you prioritize real-world skills and experience. In past courses, students have been able to complete the following course projects:
- Participate in a crisis leadership situation in a business environment and recommend a crisis-ready culture, which will help develop students’ analysis, critical thinking, and report writing skills.
- Explain how DEI supports or doesn’t support job performance, organizational behavior, locus of control works, and basic incongruity thesis.
- Act as a junior researcher in a small investment fund and write a quick interview of Moderna at their manager’s request, which will be used to decide whether to do more in-depth research as a potential investment.
- Remember a team you were a part of (sports, work, volunteer, etc.) that needed to accomplish a goal and discuss management approaches.
- Explore organizations' ethical and moral considerations, social responsibilities, policies, and strategies as they relate to the state of the workforce during the COVID-19 pandemic.

UMGC’s online bachelor's degree in management studies covers topics such as decision-making, problem-solving, management principles, and more. The program can help students prepare to work in a wide range of industries, corporations, nonprofits, and private and government organizations once they graduate.
UMGC's online bachelor's degree in management studies is a 120-credit program with courses offered year-round. The time it will take you to complete your degree will depend on several factors, including your goals, how many transfer credits you have, your course load each semester, and whether you are able to benefit from one or more of our fast paths to credit, including credit for prior learning and credit for military education and training.
Tuition rates for the online bachelor’s degree in management studies from UMGC are very competitive and appear at the top of this page. We offer a low in-state rate for Maryland residents and a reduced tuition rate for military servicemembers and their spouses and dependent children.
