A big turnout at Financial Wellness Day has prompted University of Maryland Global Campus (UMGC) officials to begin plans for another event to provide financial information and workshops to the public.
As the fall semester approaches, UMGC prepares to take its first step into the “metaverse.” For the first time, a group of students will put on VR headsets to attend a virtual campus modeled after UMGC’s facilities.

Thomas Brandt ’19, a member of the U.S. Navy Reserve, lives in the Pacific Northwest. Thanks to his degree from UMGC, he has switched from a job marked by tough physical labor to a career as a financial analyst.
