- United Way 211: 211 is a free and confidential service that allows individuals to find the resources they need.
- Active Minds: Active Minds is a mental health advocacy organization for students.
- Crisis Text Line: The Crisis Text Line is a 24/7 text line that connects you with a Crisis Counselor.
- National Alliance on Mental Illness: The National Alliance on Mental Illness is a grassroots organization that is dedicated to improving the lives of those affected by mental illness.
- 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline: The 988 Suicide & Crisis Hotline is a 24/7 support line that connects callers with mental health crisis services and resources.
- Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration: This organization offers resources and a national helpline for individuals (and families) who are experiencing substance abuse or mental health issues.
- Air Force Aid Society: The Air Force Aid Society provides financial, educational, and other forms of assistance to Air Force members and eligible family members.
- Army Emergency Relief: Army Emergency Relief is the official nonprofit of the U.S. Army. They provide resources for Army members and eligible family members.
- Coast Guard Mutual Assistance (CGMA): Coast Guard Mutual Assistance provides financial assistance for Coast Guard members and eligible family members.
- Military OneSource: Military OneSource is a 24/7 resource for active-duty military members and eligible family members.
- National Resource Directory: The National Resource Directory is a database of resources that supports recovery, rehabilitation, and reintegration for servicemembers, veterans, family members, and caregivers.
- Navy Marine Corp Relief Society: The Navy Marine Corp Relief Society provides financial, educational, and other forms of assistance to members of the Naval Services and their eligible family members.
- Serving Together Project: The Serving Together Project is a network of public, private and nonprofit organizations serving veterans, service members and their families in the Greater National Capital Region.
- Veterans Affairs Resources: Veterans Affairs Resources offers various kinds of resources for veterans.
- Veterans’ Crisis Line: The Veterans’ Crisis Line is a 24/7 support hotline for Veterans and their loved ones.
The SAFER Fund: The UMGC Student Aid Fund for Emergency Relief (SAFER) was established to assist UMGC students worldwide who are experiencing financial hardship related to an unforeseen emergency.
In addition to the resources listed in the previous sections, the chaplain offices on the military bases overseas at UMGC Asia and UMGC Europe offer counseling services to servicemembers and families stationed there.
