Join the University of Maryland University College community at a new exhibition celebrating the extraordinary work of artist and professor Curlee Raven Holton, a painter and master printmaker whose work asks viewers to carefully examine their humanity.

His art explores his creative journey and reflects the diversity of his cultural influences and aesthetics. A master of visual narrative, Holton draws people to his work through his presentation of issues such as race, spirituality, and social justice in modern American society. His dramatic use of color, symbolism, and figurative representations invite viewers to explore the complexities in his works.

We welcome you to enjoy this dynamic and thought-provoking exhibition, which opened on August 13. At the opening reception on August 27, Holton gave a talk moderated by guest panelist Wendy Wilson-Fall, Ph.D., associate professor and chair of Africana Studies at Lafayette College.
