COVID-19 Vaccine Policies

Learn about UMGC's vaccine policies for students, faculty, and staff.

University of Maryland Global Campus is committed to safeguarding the health of our students, staff, and faculty. Because vaccinations reduce the spread of COVID-19, UMGC has adopted the following policies:

  • Hybrid Students: UMGC students taking courses at any UMGC hybrid location must be vaccinated and provide proof of vaccination at least 72 hours prior to the session start date, unless an exception is approved as a reasonable accommodation based on disability or religion.
    • You will also be required to follow any location-specific guidance, which may include wearing masks, social distancing, and observing directional signage.
    • Submit your CDC vaccination card or request an exemption based on disability or religion through our online portal.
  • Online Students: UMGC students who study fully online are not required to show proof of vaccination.
  • Faculty & Staff: All faculty (full-time and adjunct), staff, and contractors who come to a UMGC location to work or attend on-site meetings or events must be vaccinated and provide proof of vaccination, unless an exception is approved as a reasonable accommodation based on disability or religion. Contact your program director or supervisor for instructions on how to submit documentation.

These policies are in alignment with the University System of Maryland (USM) and are based on guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and local health authorities.
