Eligibility and RSVP

Doctoral graduates from the summer and fall of the previous year, along with students who are candidates for the spring 2020 term, are eligible to participate in this ceremony. Eligible students will be invited via email to RSVP for the doctoral commencement using our online registration system; we expect to open registration in March.

The doctoral commencement will not be webcast live; however, video of the complete ceremony will be archived on our previous commencements page starting in late June.

For additional information about the ceremony or RSVP process, contact Commencement Services at commencement@umgc.edu.

Tickets

Entrance tickets are required for guests (but not for the doctoral graduates). Each doctoral student may claim up to 8 guest tickets.

Tickets are complimentary and should be claimed by each graduate after completing the commencement RSVP process online. Graduates will then distribute tickets to their respective guests via email.

Visit the commencement tickets page for more information.

Regalia

All graduates are required to wear UMGC doctoral regalia, which may be purchased or rented from Oak Hall. The ordering link will be provided via the online commencement RSVP process.

Important for graduates who purchase their regalia: Allow six weeks for your custom regalia to be manufactured. So if you are purchasing a set, the deadline to order is April 1.

The deadline to order rental regalia online is May 1. Otherwise, limited amounts of last-minute rental regalia will be available at the commencement fair on May 14.

Parking

Free parking is available in the garage adjacent to the College Park Marriott Hotel & Conference Center. No permits are required.

Disability parking is available in marked spaces (with the appropriate government-issued hangtag or license plates) inside of the garage.

Student Speaker
